Pixies

New York City-based fashion photographer Jamie Beck collaborates with Kevin Burg, a web designer with a background in video and motion graphics, to create a series of clever animated GIFs she calls “cinemagraphs”. This concept of animated GIFs is not new but somehow their interpretation of it seems fresh. There’s a quiet subtlety in each of these photographs that is quite beautiful.

1. Arctic Monkeys are back with a new album but it will not drop on our shores till June 7th. Here’s, ‘Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair’, the first single from new album Suck It And See.

Sounds good…Alex’s voice really stands out on this track and the guitar riffs are very “stoner rock”. I like it so far, can’t wait to listen to more from this album.

2. TV on the Radio comes back with their fourth album, Nine Types of Light. This album definitely grows on you after several listens. I’ve been reading a lot of reviews saying they have lost their “edge” and gotten soft with this album. Come on people, this is what happens when a band evolves and MATURES. I think Nine Types of Light is a pretty solid album and definitely worth a listen.

3. l-l-love this new song from Cults. You can listen to ‘Abducted’ on NPR.com.

4. Fleet Foxes – ‘Helplessness Blues’ & ‘Grown Ocean’ music video…I cannot wait to see them next month!!!
